My visit to the Bahia Principe Residences and Golf Community on the Riviera Maya in Mexico.
Day 2
I woke up to a bright sunny morning and I could hear the songs and chirping of birds in the jungle canopy outside my windows and the balcony. They were unfamiliar sounds but really neat. I ventured out onto the balcony to see if I could get a closer look at any of them but they were either very well camouflaged or I scared them off.
I decided against the big buffet at Yul Ku for breakfast – I didn’t need that many choices! Fruit and an omelet was all I wanted and I was able to get that at the Cenote snack bar so, along with a cup of tea, my day was off to a great start.
Christopher was there to meet me in the Sian Ka’an lobby and we went over to the office to speak with some other members of the sales team to explain about how we work with our clients, the lifestyle profiling that we do as part of the pre-qualification of buyers and how we use this information to match them with properties that meet their lifestyle needs and goals.
Driving into the community the first thing I notice is the infrastructure is already completed. Beautifully paved and maintained roads with all the services underground so no ugly wires to spoil the view.
We drove by a number of homes that are already completed and occupied. Stunning contemporary designs with very clean lines. There are architectural design controls in this development and no two homes adjacent to each other will be of the same design.
We went inside Casa Los Arboles, one of the two model homes – they are also for sale. This 3 bedroom (+ 1 for service personnel), 4½ bathroom home was stunning. Entering the home through a spacious, bright, naturally lit foyer that leads into a magnificent great room featuring floor to ceiling glass doors across virtually the entire rear wall with a view out to a covered terrace, pool and the pathway out to the lounging deck set back under the natural canopy of the trees. I could imagine myself out there on the lounger in the shade of the trees with a good book for hours on end, cool drink on the table beside me, occasional dip in the pool to cool off and the sounds of nature keeping me company. Ahhhh ….
Oops … back to reality need to tell you about the rest of the house!
The kitchen was very well appointed with beautiful stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, plenty of cupboard space. The off- white Travertine tile floor in the kitchen is found throughout the home. There is a service area off the kitchen which is where the washer and dryer are located – to the back of this area is the maids quarters – bedroom & bath.
Upstairs are three very bright, spacious bedrooms, each with their own ensuite bath and large windows onto lush greenery.
The master bedroom is separate from the other two bedrooms, accessed by a balcony walkway (that overlooks the great room). This large, bright spacious bedroom has a walkout to a terrace. The ensuite is huge and features a fabulous sunken bathtub set in front of a large picture window looking out to the rear garden/jungle, a large separate, spacious shower and long double vanity with large mirror. Plenty of closet space.
As we head back downstairs I am struck by the design of the staircase – it appears to have a ‘floating’ wall of coral stone at the landing – it is, of course, an illusion created by the natural light playing from a ceiling skylight and side windows– it really is very impressive.
Walking back up the driveway, on the left is a very lovely pathway with steps winding through the trees where guests can come down from the main road to the house.
Lush vegetation surrounds the house – the whole feeling of the house both inside and out is an atmosphere of calm.
This home is offers 416m2 (approx 4500 sq.ft) of interior space, plus a terrace of 150m2 (approx 1600 sq.ft) and sits on a lot of 1659m2 (approx. 17,857sq.ft.) and is priced at USD $950,000
Next we visited the Green3 golf villas, again contemporary in design and located in front of the Hole 3 fairway of the Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed golf course. This magnificent golf course preserves the charm of the Mayan jungle, with a rich landscape of outstanding lakes, Cenotes and offers the player a unique experience.
Access to the villas is from a smaller road off the main road. These villas are semi-detached and feature two bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The total land surface of each villa is 222m2 (approx. 2,389 sq.ft.) including 60m2 (approx. 646 sq.ft.) of garden area.
The living area and bedrooms are all on one level. Unfortunately we were unable to actually go into a unit due to construction however we were able to go up onto the upper level of an occupied unit. The upper level of each villa features both a shaded terrace and a solarium with a Jacuzzi and a great view to the golf course. These common areas feature a pool and bar. Each villa has it’s own parking spot in front of their unit.
The Green3 villas are priced at USD $335,000 for the remaining two units. The units scheduled for completion in June 2013 are priced at USD $355,000 and the units scheduled for completion in June 2012 are USD $310,000 (however these units will not be on the fairway). When you purchase a villa in Green3, a family membership in the Riviera Maya Golf club is included. This is a 35 year membership that is transferable with your property and offers low maintenance fees.
After leaving the Green3 villas we drove over to the area where the Quetzal condominiums are going to be built. There are only 72 units, located in nine, two storey buildings. The contemporary one bedroom, one bathroom units offer fabulous views to the fairway and lakes. These units are currently in pre-construction sales and there are 3 floor plans to choose from and they are priced from USD $182,000. There is an attractive vacation rental program available to the owners with a guaranteed return of 5% annually for 3 years. Please ask me for more details!
Bahia Principe also offers very attractive developer financing to buyers of their properties so be sure to ask me about that too.
In addition to all the great offers that Bahia Principe offers to buyers of their properties clients of Life Rich Real Estate Inc. also have the benefit of an exclusive money saving offer so be sure to contact us for the details on this!
Christopher dropped me back to the hotel for a break so that I could have some lunch, get caught up on some of my e-mails and take a break! It was very warm and humid day so it was nice to get back into the air conditioning for a while.
More on Day 2 to come …
